Looking for info on two sites not in RS Guidebook: Minoritenkirche & Central Cemetary

My husband and I are art & music lovers, going to Vienna in Sept. 2024.

I read that Minoritenkirche has a full size replica of The Last Supper as a mosaic, commissioned by Napoleon. Has anyone been there and know if we can just walk into the church and see it? Any other info?

We would like to visit the Zentralfriedhof (Central Cemetery) on a Sunday morning. Can we use our transit pass (we are staying near U-bahn stop Museumquarter) to get there? Any sense of how best to get there, and if they are truly open by 7:30am?

I had been in Minoritenkirche long ago, so I do not remember the opening times when there is no mass. Maybe these links will help you.

Zentralfriedhof opens at 7am. https://www.friedhoefewien.at/wiener-zentralfriedhof

There are two routes (of equal duration, approx. 30 minutes) to the cemetery.
(1) U3 (orange line) to Simmering (terminus), change to tram line 71 or 11 (direction Kaiserebersdorf), alight at Tor 2 (gate 2), which is the main entrance to the cemetery.
(2) At the Ring (Ring Boulevard) hop onto tram 71 (direction Kaiserebersdorf) an go directly to the cemetery (as given above).

I'd prefer route (2) just because you can see a lot of the city (instead going through a tunnel).

Make sure to visit the church at the cemetery. It is a marvelous example of Jugendstil (art deco) architecture, only outperformed by this church.

Before leaving the cemetery I recommend a stop in Oberlaa café where you can get the best cakes and pastries. (IMHO, better than at Demel, Sacher, etc.)

Your transit passes are valid throughout the whole State of Vienna, day and night, unlimited travel.
