We will be staying in Salzburg for 6 nights with a trip to Mondsee and Werfen but mostly travel within the city. I am having a hard time deciding which pass is the best value and costs for two seniors in the Salzburg region. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Are you familiar with the free Mobility Card https://www.salzburg.info/en/travel-info/arrival-traffic/guest_mobility_ticket that provides access to all public transport in the Province of Salzburg? You pay a mandatory tourist tax to your hotel and this pass is included. It doesn't have any museums or discounts, just public transportation.
You will get a travel pass from the hotel, granting free use of all public transport, not only in the City of Salzburg, but also in the whole State of Salzburg, including Bad Ischl in the lake region, which is actually already outside of the State of Salzburg, but is the hub for visiting Hallstatt and the surrounding mountains.
To find your way from A to B use this: https://fahrplan.salzburg-verkehr.at/
As long as you are staying in an official registered accommodation you will receive the Mobility pass from them.
It is valid from the day you arrive so the accommodation can email it to you if you need to use it to get to your accommodation.
