We will be in Linz on Christmas Eve. Would like to attend a candlelight service with Christmas carols after dinner. Any suggestions of a church, not a giant cathedral, which would be beautiful to visit and have a nice Christmas service? Denomination of no importance...
Thank you so much.
A German mass? Probably no carols that would be recognizable.

Everybody knows at least one Austrian Carol: Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht?
Yes, there is that one.
On Christmas Eve, Mass is at midnight, not after dinner. Austria is a Catholic country, after all.
I’d suggest asking this question on trip advisor where there are local experts on Linz.
There are also protestant churches. I have attend one in Wels, not too far from Linz, that offered very recognizable hymns, including one American hymn put into German - much to our surprise. The service was nearly identical to our tradition Lutheran Services here in the US.
Anyway, I searched for you and found the Evangelische Pfarrrgemeinde Linz - Innere Stadt which looks pretty inside and has 3 services on Christmas Eve listed on their page for worship (Gottesdienste) - 4pm, 6pm and 11pm. https://www.linzevang.com/gottesdienste
Tiger fan - nice one!
Tigerfan Danke! Perfect.
You're welcome. I hope you had a wonderful trip.
