Also still considering Radisson Blu (but it's much more $$). Which is closer to old town of the above? How long a walk would either of these be to old town? We have 2 children but they will be 11 and 14 when we go so they can walk- but would prefer to be closer to old town.

I'm going to suggest this, good location easy to walk everywhere (including train station) and a very pleasant hotel

Not sure if too late with this. Radisson blu aldstadt is right in the old town. 1 min away from Mozart platz and convenient for all of the old town. Takes 5 mins or so to get over river to linzergasse and mirabelle area
