Lebkuchen & Pfeffernüsse

I know these are typically eaten around Christmas time, but is it possible to find them handmade a couple months earlier?
Thanks!

Might be a tall order. Here in Germany, it's possible at bakeries that specialize in them. Where would you like to buy them? You might search Lebkuchen und Pfeffernüsse in Österreich kaufen. Many bakeries have them ready for the first Advent weekend.

By me: https://www.lebkuchen-rosner.de/ Famous as recommended by ""Fürstin Gloria von Thurn und Taxis sind die Lebkuchen der Lebkuchen-Manufaktur Rosner in Waldsassen die "besten Lebkuchen der Welt".

This is the oldest (and last) manufacturer of Lebkuchen in Vienna, still using recipes more than 100 years old.

It is a bit tricky to find because it is in a backyard of a building. Nevertheless easy reachable by public transport (subway U1 Nestroyplatz, then bus 5A to Brigittagasse).

This is a large manufacturer from the countryside, but they have a shop in Vienna.

Grocery stores and shops usually start putting out the Lebkuchen in the fall. It is pretty much impossible to find any earlier.

I'm confused. Quickly looking at Google Maps, I see these brick and mortar stores:
'Metzger & Söhne - Wein's Original Lebkuchen' on Herrengasse
'Pirker - Lebkuchen fur Feinschmecker' at Stephensplatz
'Karl Kammerer KG - Wiener Lebkuchen & Schokolade Manufaktur' on Dammstrasse

Why are people posting that they are difficult to find?

When I see "handmade" it triggers me to small bakeries and seasonal Lebkuchen. Maybe more European orientated? Of course you can get Lebkuchen & Pfeffernüsse from large firms like near me in Nürnberg year round. And smaller shops that specialize in them.

This was referring to "Karl Kammerer", which is somewhat off the center, has no storefront, is in a backyard of an otherwise residential building. Most tourists don't want to deal with public transport, and relying on Google Maps for this can be a nightmare as it does not keep up with the frequent changes of lines in Vienna.

"Karl Kammerer" is the oldest and last manufacturer in Vienna using the old family recipes, whereas the others with the big stores in the most expensive streets in the center are large-scale producers.
