Can anyone tell me what the Vienna weather is like around Nov. 20-27? I know the highs are around 48F. What is it like at the Xmas markets? Is late Nov. rainy and wet? I see conflicting reports on this. What kind of mens and woman’s shoes do you recommend?
The weather at that time can really vary. Who knows? I would bring layers and plan on wrapping my hands around a warm mug of something. It is notable that the markets are really evening/nighttime activities so it will be dark and cooler. I just wear my normal shoes, like my sneakers or my ankle boots. If I get too cold, I go home.
Thanks for the tip. Some people say the wind comes in from Russia, some say from the West. Opinions from every direction. Cold and snow would be great. Hopefully rain holds off. Thank you.

For 30 November it looks like 32F to 41F and a 18% chance of rain and very little chance of snow.
Wind direction mostly from the south and the west (60%)
The average weather data is a long term value. It does say nothing about the weather on a particular day.
Be prepared for all kinds of weather. The two-day rain forecast for Austria is stunningly precise (updated every 6 hours):

The particular website I posted has probability bands on it so you pretty much know the extremes.
It says to me to pack long sleeves, no shorts, one sweater, one pair light thermal underwear, beanie cap, and my mid weight down jacket and a scarf for style.
I am just down the road from Vienna almost every winter, its my proven combo.
