We would like to rent a car in Ljubljana, Slovenia and drive to Salzburg, Austria along the Michelin “discovery route” (aka "blue highways" in US) and are looking for quaint towns/villages along the way to stay and access great hiking and huts (to hike into). Additionally, how costly is it to pick a rental car in Ljubljana, Slovenia and drop it off in Salzburg or Munich? Thank you for any ideas!
Just test a car rental reservation at www.autoeurope.com or other source and you will immediately see the rental price difference.
The direct train departing from Lesce Bled station at 10:00 gets to Salzburg at 13:48 and only costs about €35 per person in 2nd class or €60 in 1st.
Thanks, great suggestion! It appears the cost per day is comperable. Is that a suprize?
