kunsthistorisches museum+Hofburg Treasury Combo Ticket

I am confused about whether the entries to the two sites are time stamped: On KHM's website, it requies to select a time slot for each site, respectively; however, on getyourguide, it only requires to select a date and it also says
"Your ticket entitles you to a one-time entry to the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna and the Imperial Treasury Vienna
Each location can be visited once, but on different dates. Ticket valid for 1 year"
Does this mean I do have to visit one site on the selected date but can visit the second site within 1 year?

I like the flexibility that getyourguide offers, but if time slots are needed I may not be allowed to enter or have to wait when I show up.

Does anybody know if time slots are required?
Thank you!

According to KHM's website only the combo ticket requires time slots for both locations, separate tickets do not. The price difference between a combo ticket and two individual tickets is only €6.

I do not know how strictly time slots are enforced because I never had such a ticket, I never had even bought a ticket in advance, just walking up and buying a ticket right at the museum. As far as I can remember the line at the ticket counter was always longer as the line for entry.

@wmt1: Thank you for sharing your experience. I probably will buy the ticket with time slots because I have a Kuntshistorisches cafe reservation at 11:45 and I don't want to miss it.

BTW: I've read your comments on this forum and found them very useful. Thank you!

Wow, ! didn't know you have to make a reservation at the Cafe at Kunsthistoriches.
I thought if there was a spot you could plop yourself down,

I suppose you could just show up and try your luck. The online reseverations are only for the morning from 10:00am-11:45am. Perhaps the Cafe reserves the afternoon and evening spots for walk-ins.

Certainly you can just try your luck. As there are no reservations for lunch time, the OP did exactly the right thing, i.e., getting a reservation for the latest morning time slot at 11:45am, waiting for lunch starting at noon.
