We are planning a trip to the area for a ski trip in late February early March next year. Looking for input on hotels, travel tips, and activities for a non skier such as day trips. We have never been to Austria, so any insight is appreciated.
Note that Kitzbuhel is at a fairly low altitude as ski resorts go; it tops out at 6000'.
Conditions may be variable.
You are hopefully going after the 21st so will miss the worst of the European school
holiday crush.
As far as day trips go, Salzburg, Innsbruck, and Munich are possible (I think you'd take
a cab to Kufstein and then train from there). Kufstein also has the Riedel glass headquarters/
factory tour/outlet store if you're into wine.
Thank you. After further research, we agree elevation is too low for that time of year — any input on Solden?
I don't ski any more and never skied in Sölden, but is has the Longest ski run in Austria. World Cup hills, 3340 m Gletscher. James Bond scenes filmed there. I think you will be OK. Ill be in Gries tomorrow and am looking forward to visiting Sölden and getting up to the Restaurant ice Q weather allowing.
On the glacier in Hintertux you can go for skiing the whole year, even in the summer.

The glacier in Hintertux is part of the Zillertal region which has multiple resorts.
I'm not sure I'd plan on skiing just the glacier for an entire week; it's not that large.
Once you open the resort selection process up, everything is possible, I suppose.
In addition to what the others have mentioned, Ischgl is supposed to be a very
snow sure resort, as is Lech/St Anton, if you want to remain in Austria.
