My boyfriend is currently working for the next month or so in Stuttgart, so I'm taking the opportunity to visit (and get a free hotel for a week!) and we'd like to take a weekend trip to see Hallstatt and the Berchtesgaden area. Any suggestions on itinerary? We're undecided if we would leave Stuttgart on Friday evening or early Saturday morning (we'll be driving). We definitely want to see Hallstatt (and possibly stay there?) as well as the Eagle's Nest.
