Daniel my immediate impression is that you can do more in a day on some days than you've listed. For instance you could eat lunch at the Naschmarkt pretty much any, or every, day if you felt like it.

Three things you might consider.

The Belvedere Museum has a terrific collection of paintings, is in a gorgeous palace, and is set on beautiful grounds in the center of Vienna. Many birds one stone.

The heurigen on the hillsides surrounding the city are a worthy folk culture trip. I like Nussdorf because it's mostly un-touristed, but really all of the in-city wine villages are pretty sweet.

Lastly, If it was me I'd take a day in the middle of the trip and get out of the city, go to the Wachau valley and see the Melk Abbey, which I'd argued is the most impressive Baroque church on the planet.

RJean - Laxenberg and Donauturm? Really? I’ve lived here for 11 years and never felt the need to do either.

Laxenberg was my idea as a possible place to visit. I have visited the castle and it is quite nice. Daniel had listed Donauturm on his original itinerary. I kept his original itinerary and tweaked it a bit. Since you live in the area, you see it differently but travelers coming from the states may see it as a place worth exploring.

I like the idea of adding heurigen. It gets you out of the city a bit to a charming area and it's fun. I also like the idea of visiting the Wachau valley. Just a thought, but you have a walking tour on day 4. You might move that up in case you see something you'd like to revisit. Lastly, what do people think about the Mozarthaus? We enjoy Mozart and visited the Mozarthaus and were underwhelmed and thought it a bit odd? Curious as to what other travelers think.
