We are planning a trip flying into Munich then taking the train to Innsbruck, stay in Innsbruck for 2 nights then take the train to Ortisei for 3 nights then a train to Varenna for 3 nights. I am just starting to plan what sites to see along the way and started with accommodations. We are 2 couples that prefer airbnb with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Not finding anything in Innsbruck but hotels. We like staying in the old town near the train station if possible. While looking at Ortisei I found very expensive accommodations. Is it better to look at other locations close to Ortisei instead? We were trying to avoid renting a car but would if it makes the trip easier at any point along the way.
Looking for itinerary suggestions and accommodations. Has anyone had a similar trip?
