Innsbruck or Graz?

We are traveling to Austria for 4 1/2 weeks in September/October. We will be staying for 2 weeks in Vienna, a week in Salzburg, 4 nights in Hallstatt and are trying to decide whether to stay in Graz or Innsbruck for the remainder of the time. Note that we will be using those cities as home bases to visit neighboring areas as well as enjoying the cities themselves. We are not “sporty” and enjoy seeing art, architecture, musical/theatrical performances and love good meals and relaxing cafes. A beautiful view is a plus! Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I find Innsbruck to be one of my favorite European cities.

Innsbruck is Alpine like Salzburg and Hallstatt with similar surroundings and culture. I would suggest Graz, as the area is distinctively different. Graz itself is lovely but the area around is special. I highly recommend Riegersburg fortress, Zotter Chocolate factory (trust me on this one), Vulcano Ham, the Chees Artist (amazing). There are also apple farms and wineries everywhere in that area, especially southwest of Graz. Loipersdorf is a fabulous spa area and Bad Blumau is designed by Hundertwasserhaus. Links below-

Thanks so much for your thoughtful responses! I think I’ve made the decision to spend that week in Graz. Thanks again!
