Hey everyone,
I'm glad we stumbled upon this ocean of information.
We'll be in Austria during the year end covering Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck. I'll be coming back here with a lot of questions eventually but here's the first one.
We'll be in Innsbruck on December 31 and our day plan includes Patscherkofel Cable Car and Norkette Cable Car.
While Nordkette trip right upto the top itself is an experience, during the New Year's eve they have a special fireworks show, and it's a separate package which starts only late in the evening post dark (Hungerburg funicular starts from 7:45 pm). This means we will miss the daytime views overall. It's also 28 euros more than the usual package, per person.
I want to request any input, feedback or advice regarding Nordkette, if it's worth going in the darkness and waiting for midnight to enjoy the fireworks OR go during daylight and enjoy the views of the surrounding areas?
Are these fireworks visible from Innsbruck town itself? Is it a great experience to be present right there? Also, during the fireworks the cable car does not go right upto the top, goes only upto Seegrube that too, post 8 pm.
Looking forward, many TIA!
