We are going to staying in Oberammergau Germany with our college kids. Innsbruck is 1 hour away. What activities are there to do? We are also staying in Salzburg for 2 nights. Should we just stay in Germany?

At what time of the year? A lot of (outdoor) activities depend on that.

There is a lot to see in and around Innsbruck. You can go up the Nordkette with the cable car, there is the alpine zoo, the ski jump hill, Crystal Worlds, etc.

Add the Innsbruck Hofburg, that is the Imperial Palace, a smaller version of the Vienna one. Also, shopping is much better in Innsbruck than in Oberammergau (except for Christmas trinkets, where Oberammergau cannot be beaten).
