Imlauer Hotel Pitter or Hotel & Villa Auersperg?

I'm trying to decide between these two hotels in Salzburg. What I'm looking for is a boutique hotel that is away from the crowds with more of a neighborhood feel, but close enough to walk to old town. They both get great reviews, but I'm wondering if Imlauer has more of a corporate feel to it? Or if you have any other suggestions, that would be great too. These are both in the under $300 price range.
Appreciate any advice.
Thanks,
Laurie

My wife and I stayed at the Villa Auersperg two summers ago. It was fantastic! And the breakfast was excellent! We are headed back to Salzburg this summer but staying at Hotel Stadtkrug instead because we are bringing our children and wanted accommodations that fit a family of 5 in one suite. I do regret that we won't be staying at the Villa for this return trip.

Thanks, Ross. I think I'm going to go ahead and book it. Actually, to get a standard room (versus "cozy") does go over my $300 budget but I'm worried about just how "cozy" the cozy room is.

Laurie,
Just keep in mind that unless the hotel is a modern building a lot of these hotels in Salzburg are in refurbished older structures so these rooms are all 'cozy'. I appreciate the charm of it all, actually.
FYI, the bathrooms at Villa Auersperg were pretty modern in amenities and the rooms tastefully furnished, but a bit small for what a typical American is used to (not attempting to disparage anyone, things are just bigger in the US).

I take charm over size any day. The hotel offers a choice between a standard room and a cozy room. I probably would be fine with cozy but selected the standard room just to be on the safe side. Thanks again. Have a great trip with your family.
