How was this Salzburg boat tour?

I was looking at https://www.classictic.com/en and found this special concert tour called Classical City Boat Tour & Best of Mozart Concert at Fortress of Salzburg. If you've gone, how was it? We're going to be in Salzburg in mid-June. This would be a real treat, but not so sure about what my teenage daughter might think. Any reviews?

I have not taken a boat tour (the river was very high when I was there anyway), but I do not see the point of it in Salzburg: there are no major landmarks around the river, and its course through the historical center is very short, maybe a mile.

Cannot comment about the concert, but the Fortress is a place you should go to, in my opinion!

Hello CA_CO mom! With only 1.5 days in Salzburg (as noted in your other posts), please do not waste time on this tourist trap idea. There is nothing to see from the river at all. With you limited time, you should focus on the Salzburg fortress (during the day), Mirabell Gardens, Mozart's residences (from the outside is ok), Hellbrunn Palace and the old town of Salzburg (shopping, ambiance). If you only have one dinner in Salzburg, definitely don't spend it eating sub-par food in a tourist concert. Spend that evening in one of the many fantastic Austrian restaurants in Salzburg. While not fancy, I think that the Augustiner Brau is a great experience for food and culture.

I did the boat tour way back in 2014 when I was in Salzburg for around a week for the Salzburger Festspiele and had purchased the Salzburg Card. It was an okay thing to do when there for 7 days. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who is going to be there for only 1.5 days... there are much better things to do/see.

The fortress concert is worthwhile. Good musicians. Nice variety of pieces.

But not with dinner, right Dave? Especially if there is only one dinner in Salzburg? Chicken and pasta? C’mon.

Just saw Emily's post... yes... one can get much better food than the fortress dinner... though the ambiance of dinner on the Panorama Terrace is hard to beat!

Thanks all for your input. We won't waste time on a river cruise.

At the Fortress, they do sell the concert and dinner separately . The dinner is a pre-set menu with 2-3 choices, and can be upgraded. Alcohol is additional charge. It was ok, you do need to eat somewhere before the concert.
The concert itself was very good, it was after the dinner, in a separate small hall. I'd definitely recommend the concert; again, the dinner is ok.
At intermission, go outside and enjoy the night view of Salzburg's lights- beautiful!
Safe travels!
