How cold atop Eagle’s Nest / Zugzpizte?

We will be there end of July early august. I’ve looked up and averages seem around 10C. How cold does it get at the top during an average summer? Thick jacket or a lightweight hoodie? I understand nobody can predict the weather.,,.,please be nice!
Thanks!

When I went up to the Eagles Nest (Kehlsteinhaus to be accurate) a few years ago I was in shirt sleeves.

I've been up the Zugspitze, also a few years ago and can't remember what I was wearing. Would certainly have been shirt sleeves with or without a light fleece. It isn't like the snow fields on top of Jungfrau.

I checked my photos for that day and we were in short sleeves. It was a beautiful day in early September. I'm sure we had some warmer clothes along just in case. I think it will come down to how the wind is and if the sun is out. (No sun usually means a lot colder). We just got back from a trip to the Wallowa mountains in Oregon. We rode a lift up to the top where the weather was in the high 40's. It felt much warmer because of the hot sun.

My answer referred to the Zugzpizte. When we went up Eagle's nest in 2003, it was the same. Beautiful sunny day, we are in short sleeves.

We were there in mid September a few years ago and it was a beautiful day. We had short sleeves and a light sweater on. We did not go in the tea house and instead opted to walk up as far as we could for the views and we were quite comfortable in what we were wearing.

Connie--I love the Wallowas! We have backpacked there a number of times.
