Hotels in Vienna city center

Does anyone have recommendations for a hotel in the Vienna City Center? We are hoping to spend $150 per night or less and will need someplace where we can also park our rental car (and we recognize that will probably be an additional fee).

When you say city center, do you mean the First District? If so, a hotel for $150 will be hard to come by. Your better option is a pension if you want to be in that part of town. Try Pension Suzanne or Pension Aviano.

You should keep in mind that Vienna is a compact city with excellent public transportation, so it is not truly necessary to stay in the first district. I actually prefer districts 3, 4, 7 and 8 (look at the postal code of the hotel, 1030 is the 3rd; 1040 is the 4th and so on). You can travel from those areas to the first district in just a few minutes, even by foot.

As for the parking for your rental care, I would highly recommend that you use a Park and Ride facility. It is 3 Euro/day and you won't need a car in Vienna. Where are you coming from? Here is a link to a map of the various P+R's:

We stayed at the Classic Hotel Wein - it is in the 2nd near Praterstern Bhf. It is a short walk to the city center and has parking at the hotel. The rates are in you budget, the rooms are lovely & clean and the staff is fantastic. One of them, after hearing my disappointment that the tickets for the Vienna Boys Choir Mass were sold out told me to go to the church and they sell standing tickets (there were chairs after all) at reduced rates - you do not get to see them but the sound is glorious! There is also an underground station right down the street and a wonderful restaurant down the street, 3/4 Takt which serves up homemade Austrian comfort food.

When I drove into Vienna a few years ago, I stayed at K & T Boardinghouse, one of many B & Bs located on MariaHilfer Strasse (between the Westbahnhof train station and the Museum Quarter). Once there, I did find parking in the residential area. The hotel recommends a parking garage near them for 12 euros/day: http://www.ktboardinghouse.at/en/2/location.html.

I too will be staying again at K&T Boardinghouse in 3 weeks for far less than your budget $150.
I started staying there 15 years ago when I read Rick Steves also stayed with Tina and Kaled.

It's 1 Metro/subway stop from The Ring--or 10 minute walk. There are plenty of restaurants and a supermarket in the neighborhood.
Now they have a second property across the street.
