Looking for good mid range hotel in a location close to tourist locations traveling in December

Hotel Beethoven! We loved it and was one block from Naschtmark.

Based on positive reviews, mid range & central location we will be staying at Hotel Austria for 5 nights next week.

Tourist locations are scattered in Vienna. Don't assume you can do everything by walking. Use your time efficiently, i.e. get acquainted with public transport, which is available everywhere, easy to use, and very safe (even in the night).
Consequently, choose a hotel which has good and close access to public transport, e.g. less than three minutes walking to the next stop.

Depends on what you mean by close to tourist locations. I stayed at Classic Hotel Wien and I loved it. Mid range price but quite classy, one of the fancier hotels I stayed in on my limited budget. It's a couple of blocks from the metro then one stop to the center or it's about a 1 km walk, very easy.
