Horse-Drawn sleigh rides in early December

We will be in Salzburg for the Christmas Markets Dec. 3-8, and would like to travel, via public transport, to an area that has the potential for snow AND offers horse-drawn sleigh rides. We realize that seeing snow in the Salzburg during that time is possible, but not probable. We visited in 2017 around the same time and did see snow. Beautiful snow. That being said, can anyone recommend, generally, where we would begin to look for companies or individuals that offer horse-drawn sleigh rides? Perhaps even specifically?

We will also be in Vienna before and after Salzburg, but thought our best chances would be within a few hours train ride from the Salzburg area.

Once heading for Salzburg you may use weather forecast, web-cams and snow-reports in order to understand at what altitude you may find snow.

Most easy to reach by train is Gastein valley on the main train-track from Salzburg via Villach to Italy or Slovenia. The highest of the 3 villages in Gastein valley is Bad Gastein (about 1000 meter altitude). It’s about 1:30 hours by train from Salzburg, thus feasible for a day-tour.
Their web-site provides a list of providers for a sleigh ride. I did not do it thus can’t recommend any.

I am also looking for the same thing but we are going around New Years. In addition to Gastein I found these online:

And

It looks like the elevation here is about 3200’ and 3400’ so there should be a decent chance of snow in these places. We are traveling by train or bus and it looks like these are both accessible via public transportation.
Please post if you find a sleigh ride and try it.

Thank you for sharing this Paul636 and JRimi.

JRimi, we will have returned from our trip by the time you go, so I will be sure to let you know what we find. Too, if I run across any other information, I will be more than happy to share - and will.
