We will be traveling to Salzburg in the Spring and I was thinking about taking a HOHO tour to the Salzkammergut region (25E pp). Has anyone taken this and can you give me your thoughts? We have never done this in any city and it is a little daunting. thank you!

I've taken the Hop On / Hop Off tours that cover Salzburg and area, but I've never taken the tours covering the Salzkammergut. Which tour are you considering? Could you elaborate on why it's a "little daunting".

there are several tours with the HOHO bus and the green line goes out in the surrounding area. I couldn’t get the website in English, only German, so that is why it was difficult.

I did the option for the city and outlying areas of Salzburg--caught it at the train station (there's a kiosk inside to buy your ticket, not sure how you're getting to Salzburg) and it served me well on a long day trip, definitely went to areas I wouldn't have been able to see otherwise. The buses are comfy, with audio, and the stops are well-marked and the buses do keep to their scheduled times.

Thank you Christa, I just wanted to get an opinion from someone who did the tour or if it was just easier to take the train to the outlying areas. I appreciate your help as well.
