We are staying in Alpbach, Austria for a week at the end of May and moving east towards the Hohe National Park area for another week. We've stayed in Alpbach four or five times and it is our absolute favorite part of the country. We rent an apartment for the week as there are four of us traveling together. We're hoping to find the same kind of beautiful scenery and not too crowded an area near the park. Any suggestions would be appreciated. While an apartment is preferable, we would consider getting two hotel rooms for that week. Thanking you in advance.

Using googlemaps and zooming in on that area, I found this place, http://www.berghaus-aussergschloess.at/en/home.html I have not stayed here. I don't know how close you want to get to the park. There are towns fairly close by. Again, using googlemaps, really zoom in on the town you are considering and look for places with the bed icon indicating an accommodation. Have a great trip.

I have stayed in Hollersbach many times - actually in a part of it named Jochberg that is on a height and faces the Hohe Tauern park. Place I stay in is very simple and they only speak German but you could search for other options.
It's close to the Krimml Waterfalls also.
