Hofburg and Schönbrunn

Hello there.
I only have 2 days in Vienna. I am debating if it is worth to visit both Hofburg and Schönbrunn. Or is it ok to see Hofburg from the outside and spend more time in Schönbrunn? Any advice is appreciated.

By all means go to both. They're just not something to miss if you're in Vienna. Neither is an all day excursion, and the Schonbrunn can be reached by mass transit.

It is perfectly ok to see the Hofburg from the outside and do inside/outside of Schönbrunn. For me, there are so many better things to see in Vienna than the inside of palaces.

There is a limitless variety to see in Vienna , you could optimize your time by seeing the interiors at Schonbrunn , and skipping those at The Hofburg . I find that those at Schonbrunn are better , and that would allow you to use that time elsewhere with such a short visit

Unfortunately with 2 days there is no time to visit either Hofburg or Shonbrunn from inside. You need 2 days just to scratch strict center inside Ringstrasse circle. You have Kartnerstrasse, Graben, Kunsthistorisches museum, many cafes etc. Hofburg is near and for Schonnbrunn you need to travel at least half hour in one direction. Maybe it is wise to enter Hofburg and see Shonbrunn gardens instead of palace which tends to be crowded. Or not to visit any of these two this time, Hofburg is quite spectacular from outside. In my opinion you need at least 7 days to see just basic Vienna. Here is the short film https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlesrbocbBQ
