Hiking in the Innsbruck Region

Hello! My friend and I will be taking the train from Munich to the Innsbruck area for 4 days in August (it doesn't have to be Innsbruck, it just seems like the best place to start a mountain trip). We would love to hike and stay in a hut for 1-2 nights. I'm used to hiking/camping in the US, but we've never done something like this before. Any route tips or advice on finding a place to sleep? We will be relying on trains and public transport for our stay, so trailheads have to be easily assessable.

Thanks!

Alex

I would suggest to go to "Seefeld in Tirol" as a base for hiking. Seefeld is situated on a high plateau about 12 miles northwest of Innsbruck. There are 7 direct trains per day from Munich to Seefeld, following a very scenic route.

This is a list of 200+ hiking trails in the Seefeld area:

You can choose by lenght, difficulty, and altitude difference.
