HELP! Losing my mind trying to find a place in Vienna for two nights

I am staying with my girlfriend and another couple in Vienna for a couple nights on a trip to Austria/Hungary/Czech.

I've spent 5-6 hours researching every hotel in Vienna's Inner Stadt. I would be so grateful to have help being pointed in the right direction. I need the following:

The last night we are in Europe we are also staying in Vienna. Thinking we can splurge a bit then.

Thank you!

I had a lovely weeklong stay at Le Meridien on Opernring last August--close to the U-bahn and tram stops, several museums and the Naschmarkt is just a couple of blocks away. I don't know about Europcar but Vienna is an extremely easy city to navigate on their various public transportation options or taxi if need be. Price depends on when you stay and how long, of course, but it was in the $200+-ish range when I stayed. Huge room, clean, very comfy bed, bathtub separate from shower, all the amenities and very helpful front desk staff. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Le Meridian looks amazing. It is quite a bit above our price range. I'm open to a nicer hotel as long as there are some rooms under $200.

Rick Steves' guidebook recommends quite a few hotels and pensions in you price range but most are not in that neighborhood. The two that are closest are Pension Suzanne and Hotel zur Wiener Staatsoper. If your trip is soon and you're finding rooms to be sold out, then a bigger hotel booking search engine online could help to find availability.

Are you having trouble finding an available room? What dates? If in May, it might be because the Eurovision Song Contest is taking place in the city.

Going with Pension City. Looks great. Priced right. Perfect location. That's what it is all about right?

Mike, actually that link was to the K&K in Budapest. I was being a smart-arse. Figured if someone cant find a decent place in Austria, they might as well come to Budapest where they can be taken care of quite well........
