Has anyone been to the Tyrolean evening in Innsbruck?

Our family (2 adults and 3 kids aged 9-14) will be spending some time in Innsbruck in July2017 and we wondered if this event was worth visiting? From other posts I guess the food isn't anything to write home about but we thought the music might be good fun...any comments? We are staying outside Innsbruck at a farmhouse inn for 2 nights...planning on some hiking, alpine coaster and walking around Innsbruck before going to neuschwanstein castle. Does this sound good? We are already doing a cable car ride up the mountains in Switzerland so will skip that in Austria, still debating the Swarovski tour...again thinking this might impress the kids, even if the adults think it's hyped up! Thanks for your feedback.

If you're not interested in the food, you can just go for the show + drinks, that's what we did - we ate somewhere else first and then went to the show. Now, it's been a lot of years since we went (late '90's) but I still remember it well and it was a very enjoyable show, I'm sure it hasn't changed in all this time since it's very traditional. Lot's of foot stamping and shoe slapping and yodeling - kitschy but fun.

You might consider to go to the medieval town "Hall in Tirol" which has not only a picturesque center but offers two museums.

Bergbaumuseum:
Underground tunnels where you learn how salt was mined in the ancient times.

Münze Hall:
Shows the history and the techniques of minting silver coins, as Hall was one of the very few places within the Austrian empire which gained the privilege to issue coins.

Be sure to check the opening times of the venues in advance!

The Ambras Castle, including an armory, may be appealing to children. Also the Hofburg is not bad. You look short on time, skip the Swarowski tour - a visit to their shop in the very centre of Innsbruck is enough to give an idea.
The Igls tourist board offers a free open air tyrolean evening every week in July and August in the garden on the back of their office, close to the church - but you have to be there on the exact weekday (Friday, if memory serves me) and hope it is not raining.

Schools Ambras, Igls, Hall in Tirol are all good suggestions. Add the Hofkirche. I can't imagine Swarovski impressing the kids, or adults. With 2 days, there's way too many better things to do in the area.
