Halstatt

Pretty much every post about Hallstatt mentions how unpleasantly crowded it has become.

We were thinking of visiting there. Is it supposed to be as crowded in the winter as well?

I was on a RS tour in December 2019 and Hallstatt was an overnight stop. It was not crowded at all. The boat capt on the lake tour told us how crowded it gets in summer. If you are there in December try to time it for Krampus. We lucked out were there for this amazing festival and spectacle.
