Has anyone taken the lift up to the Five Fingers viewpoint above Obertraun? Is is worth it for what looks like a fantastic view.

I've been doing some research on your question. We spent 3 days in Hallstatt in 2012 and went on many hikes but this Five Fingers viewpoint does not ring any bells. The best I can advise is a rather steep hiking trail that ended up that an amazing viewpoint at the Rudolfsturm restaurant. We sat there for a couple hours having ice caffe and falling in love with the views. We caught the trail right in the town of Hallstatt above the waterfalls if I remember right. There was an option to take a lift up if you would rather not hike. Hope this helps.

It appears that the "easy" way to do this is to get to Obertraun and then take the lift up. It's then a short hike to the viewpoint. It seems that there are other things to do near the upper lift station.
I will only have time to do one "major" sightseeing event in Hallstatt and am trying to prioritize. I was there once before several years ago and did the Salt Mine and the town walk.
