Hallstatt hotel recommendation

Hotel Gruner Braun. Right on the town square and if you are lucky you will have a great view of the lake. Very good restaurant. Check it out at https://www.gruenerbaum.cc/en/

Second that recommendation. We had a room with a small balcony overlooking the square and it was very pleasant. Staff was great and we enjoyed the breakfasts (included) and our dinner in the hotel restaurant.

You might also have a look at Gasthof Simony, which is right next door to Seehotel Grüner Baum. Simony is an older property but it's nicely maintained, the rooms are very comfortable and the staff are wonderful. Some rooms have a view of the lake.

We had a very pleasant stay at Gasthof Pension Gruner Anger. It's a small bed and breakfast that is a 5 minute walk to the center of town.
