Need a recommendation for accommodations in Hallstatt. Going in September . We want to stay close to lake and town.

Hallstatt is teeny, and everything is near the lake. I suspect it might be late to find something there. Here are 2 places I've stayed--maybe 1 will meet your unstated requirements.

I loved Seehotel Grüner Baum. It's on the lake. I splurged for a balcony. It was awesome.

You could also have a look at THIS hotel, which is right next door to Seehotel Grüner Baum. It's a bit older but I found the rooms very comfortable and they served a nice breakfast.

Another thumbs up for Seehotel Grüner Baum. If you get a lake view room, you'll be entranced by the beauty of Hallstättersee and surrounding mountains.

Have contacted the 2 hotels mentioned in this thread for a place to stay in Hallstatt next May, 2019.......I cannot get either of them to reply to me......anyone else have this problem? I did also contact a hotel a little out of the main town area a few weeks ago and they said they do not take reservations this early......to contact them again in December. Anyone else have this problem? I would like to go ahead and get all of the hotels on our trip secured and I have.......just cannot figure out why the rest readily take a May 2019 reservation and Hallstatt won’t..........

In addition to being too early, I would expect they might be a tad busy in July/August.

We chose Gasthof Pension Gruner Anger for our stay in Hallstatt. Our room was large, immaculately clean, good breakfast and free parking. It's about a 5 minute, very pleasant walk to the village. IMO the hotels that are actually in the village were overpriced.

If you have a car, I wouldn't hesitate to stay a little bit outside of the small town. That opens up lots of options. Closer the better, but a car would make it workable. Hallstatt is absolutely breathtaking.

I stayed at Gasthof Zauner which is in the town center up from the lake with nice breakfast and clean rooms and we parked very Close.

Fenix Hall Hotel is modern, clean and well located with hospitable staff.
Info@fenixhall.com was the email I used for a quick response when we stayed in July. I also checked them out on booking com
