We will be arriving in Hallstatt in early Sept. for one day. What are the possibilities of booking a room at a TI or similar source on the day we arrive. It will most likely be a Wednesday? Thank you, Hank, Novato, CA

Frankly, I wouldn't risk it. Early September is still busy. We were there in late September and it was packed then so I would imagine early in the month would be worse.
It was so busy that we couldn't move .

I was there in September and no problem. There are many many pensions. You probably won't be in the center. Go to TI. From the ferry to the left and about 10 minutes slow walk. My accommodation was about 15 minutes walk from the center.
And I could not get anything on line.
