Hello there. I am planning to do a day trip to Hallstatt from Salzbugh. Is it too much trying to squeeze Dachstein on the same day? I am not planning to see the ice caves as I will be spending another day to Werfen ice caves. I would like to go to the lookouts in Dachstein area plus Hallstatt (skywalk/salt mine/bone house). Is that too ambitious?

If the weather permits I think it is doable. Come to Hallstatt as early as possible, i.e. before the masses of tourists start pouring in. Try to be the first at the salt mine. Go to the Dachstein in the afternoon then.
I have not done this myself one one day in this order, so it is kind of an educated guess based on the reports of other people.
