Golfing in Austria

So will you be in the Tirol, or elsewhere in Austria? One of my colleagues is a keen golfer, so I can ask him for his opinion. I do know, however, that the courses in Austria are pretty strict about who can play on their courses. For most courses, you need to be able to provide proof of membership to a club or evidence that you are a decent golfer. Will he bring his own clubs, or need to rent?

We are planning on visiting Tyrol region. He will need clubs for rental. I was not aware of course specifics like being in a club. Good to know !Hnnmmmm

There's a public course in Radstadt. Not in Tyrol, but in neighboring Salzburgerland. Despite the fantastic mountain scenery and nearby ski resorts, for some reason this area doesn't see a whole lot of tourism in the summer. I like the nearby ski resort of Obertauern, although it's almost completely dead in the summer. But because it sits at high altitude, it provides a nice escape from occassional summer heat waves.
