I was hoping to visit this site while staying in Graz. Are they relatively easy options on getting to the castle from the station?
Also, any dining recommendations in Graz would be appreciated as well.

Hopefully somebody in Austria will have better info.
I have been to Hochosterwitz a number of times, but always by car. It's a favorite place and part of family history.
Checking my map app, it looks like about an hour train ride, and the station is 3.3 km from the castle. I have no idea if there would be a taxi available there.

This might be the time when you will want to rent a car for the day. Be sure to have an IDP.

This is a description how to walk from train station Launsdorf to the castle (40 minutes) across the fields.
It is in German, but you can have it translated easily.

I went through the same thing this spring while planning, it doesn't look easy to get to! We always do train travel, but sometimes castles are missed because they are so far out of the way.
