Getting tkts day of at box office in December

Was wondering if any of you in the past, have had luck early December getting tickets to for example, The Vienna Philharmonic or possibly an opera by walking up to the box office the day of the show?
We have a few nights that aren’t booked and looks like all the good shows are sold out.

Walking up on the day for a Vienna Philharmonic or Vienna Opera seated ticket? Absolutely not.

Standing in line for a standing room ticket at either the Musikverein or the Wiener Staatsoper? Maybe

Certainly worth a try . I've done that .at The Musukverein and The Volksoper several times over the years and have had some success There are tickets that have been returned prior to a performance , if you are there in person , you might snag them .. Two examples - One night at The Musikverein , two tickets had come back for Cleveland Orchestra playing Mahler Sixth Symphony , and one night , a performance of Kander and Ebb's " Cabaret " at The Volksoper . Separate seats , but since you don't converse during a performance , that wasn't an issue .

Guess We'll take or chances.Have to look into other venues.
Rick mentions going to 11 am mass Sunday at Augustinian church.
The Wien Mozart Orchester sounds a bit cheesy but nice venue right?

Don't be put off by the costumes in the Vienna Mozart Orchestra , Vienna has a large free lance contingent of musicians and the playing will be first rate .

I'll look into that again.
Thanks
We're there for 6 nights and only one evening is booked.
And a few of those will be dedicated to a nice dinner and seeing all those wonderful Christmas lights.
As long as my 96 year old buddy can keep on his feet, plan to wander all over the place.

Again, as discussed, there will be tickets likely available online a few months out. I feel that you are pouting and making this difficult.

Augustinerkirche, yes, there is a lovely Sunday morning choral mass. You must arrive early to get a seat. I prefer, however, the Mass at the exceptionally beautiful Jesuitenkirche.
