General Salzburg and Vienna Questions

Hello everyone. I'm about to go on a trip in less than a month and am planning to visit Salzburg and Vienna. I will also be taking a day trip to Berchtesgaden. While planning, I thought of the following three questions that I couldn't seem to find a definitive answer to. I'd appreciate a little guidance if it can be provided.

  1. Do you have to schedule a Hohensalzburg visit in advance when you have the Salzburg Pass?
  2. What sights in Vienna would you say must be booked in advance?
  3. Can you book any Konigssee boat tours in advance? Most of what I have seen says that you should just show up to locations.

Thank you in advance!

We were in Salzburg two weeks ago. We did not have the pass, but had no problem buying tickets to enter the Fortress.
We also went out to the Lake, and the boats seemed to run every 15-20 minutes, and we just bought the tickets when we arrived at the Lake.
I was in Vienna pre-covid, and did have a Pass, and did not books any of the museums or palaces in advance. I don't know if Covid changed any of that.
You have a great trip planned!

Answer to #2 - Schonbrunn is the only site I would book in advance.

Re the Königsee boats— just show up whenever. If you have to wait, grab lunch or shop a bit

I was in Vienna two days ago. The Belvedere and the Shönbrunn both require timed tickets. You can buy on line or at the door. I booked on line to make sure I got the times I wanted.

I did not need a timed ticket The Belvedere earlier in June. I did not tour inside Schönbrunn but my understanding is that’s the only place you need advance tickets for.
