FYI—All covid entry rules for Austria lifted from today, May 16

As of today, proof of vaccine, recovery, or negative test is no longer required.

FFP 2 masks are still mandatory on public transport (including at train stations and airports), when using taxis and in essentials shops (e. g. supermarkets, post offices and pharmacies).

The trend continues of the smaller countries outside of Belgium and the Netherlands lifting entry rules in Europe.

Will Turkish Airlines be aware of this update or do I need to go ahead and get tested prior to the United States to Vienna flight?

roberts.mca, looks like they already have the updated info. You can go to their website and put in that you are flying from the US to Austria and it says this: Currently, most travelers from United States can enter Austria without proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.

I always like to be prepared. So, it wouldn’t hurt to print out the info. from the Austria website to have just in case.

Have a great trip!!! I travel to Austria later this year with my sister and am looking forward to it.

My last trip to Hungary on Turkish Air was a week or two after the restrictions had been lifted in Hungary; but the Turkish Air check in staff still demanded the test (fortunately I had one).
