Is there night rail service first class from ***Salzburg Hbf to Rome Termini* ? If so, how many changes would that involve ?

According to the Deutsche Bahn website (not where you'd buy the ticket), you have these options:

Dep 10:02 PM, arr 8:35 AM with a change in Arezzo, where you have a 15-minute layover. The second train departs Arezzo at 7:25 AM and is not a night train, so it has no sleeping accommodations. It doesn't make any stops between Arezzo and Rome.

Dep 10:02 PM (same train as above), arr 9:22 AM with no changes. This train makes a couple of stops between Arezzo and Rome; that's why it's slower.

The first train (used on both itineraries) makes five stops between midnight and 7 AM, so be prepared to be jerked awake multiple times during the night even if you sleep reasonably well on trains.

There's also a 1:40 AM departure with a single change in Venice-Mestre, but it doesn't get you to Rome until 12:10 PM, so I assume it would not be an attractive option for you.

There is a night train from Munich to Rome.

What does this have to do with the OP's question?

This is the regular EN (EuroNight) train for which was asked for:
Salzburg Hbf departure 22:02, Roma Termini arrival 09:22 (no changes).

Nobody said Munich

I quoted from a post by Chris F, who obviously had edited it in the meantime to correct it.
