We have started planning a 2026 Christmas Market trip that will include Salzburg and Vienna. The couple we are traveling with are big foodies. My wife and I don't focus on food when we travel, so I need suggestions and input on where I can go to research great food in those cities.

Google review ratings (I use Google Maps) are also reliable I have found.
Please do not listen to the restaurant recommendations on TripAdvisor - the highest rated restaurant forever was a place at the airport.

One place to try in Salzburg is Fuerst, the makers of the original "Mozart balls", which you will find ubiquitously in souvenir shops from other companies. Fuerst's however is the original and is only available from their stores in Salzburg or online.
