Family hotels in Salzburg and Vienna for travelers who need to park a car

Please share recommendations for hotels in Salzburg and Vienna. We need hotels with family rooms (that sleep 3 persons) and either access to hotel parking or a reasonable distance from a public garage. We want to park the car and ignore it until we leave the city. We've previously stayed inside the inner ring in Vienna and loved the convenience of the location. Budget is $200-250 (if that's possible).

Thanks in advance for all suggestions and wisdom!

In Salzburg we stayed once in what is now the Wyndom Grand. Parked in the garage. Realitively easy walk over the Pioniersteg and along the Salzach into the old city (2k). Maybe not what you are looking for. I usually stay in Germany near Bechtesgarten or Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden and use Parkplatz P+R Alpenstraße Süd in Salzburg. The ticket used to include bus transport for 5 for the day. https://www.salzburg.info/en/travel-info/arrival-traffic/car/parking/p-r-sued

Forgot to add you can avoid the Austrian Autobahn Vignette if you stay on secondary roads.

One thing you might consider is staying on the outskirts of Salzburg. My friend and I had a car and we stayed at Pension Ballwein, which was just outside Salzburg. It was so nice, with gorgeous views from our bedroom terrace, quiet and peaceful and very reasonably priced. Our room was charming with lots of kitschy touches that seemed very Austrian, and the beds had very fluffy comforters and pillows. But the best was the view. There were French doors that opened onto a balcony, which gave way to an incredible vista of the Alps.

The bus stop was right across the road, so we just took the bus to and from the city center (about a 10-15 minute ride) and left our car parked at the pension. This worked extremely well. https://www.pension-ballwein.at/?lang=en

We had a room with 2 beds there, but they also have family rooms and apartments. I would definitely recommend a stay there and would stay there again myself.

when I drive to Salzburg I stay out on Moosstrasse and use the bus which takes around 8 to 10 minutes and leave the car at the hotel carpark.

Nigel, Pension Ballwein is on Moosstraße, lol! I really liked staying there, and as I mentioned, we took the bus in as well. I think ours may have been a bit farther out than your hotel, though.
