We are thinking about a small group day trip from Vienna to Salzburg with White Alligator tours. Does anyone have first hand experience using them? They are relatively new.

I have not taken such a trip, and I know nothing about that company. However, I see that Salzburg is about 2-1/2 hours from Vienna by either bus or train, so you would apparently be signing up for 5 hours in transit--possibly quite a bit more if this is one of the companies that picks up each client at his hotel.

It is easy to get to Salzburg from Vienna. Either an OeBB train or Westbahn. Typically, trains are faster than vehicles. If you want to do a tour, I'd get to Salzburg on your own and start a tour there. Otherwise, unless you are interested in a Sound of Music tour, you can use the tour suggestion out of the RS Austria guide and do some additional research depending on your interests.
