I am looking for recommendations for Salzburg Altstadt hotels and would love any feedback! We are considering The Elefant, Weisse Taube or Hotel Wolf. We will be a multigenerational group (ages 20 - 80) and will be there in December 2021 -- looking forward to Christmas Markets, Advent music, etc. Restaurant suggestions welcome too! We stayed 4 nights at the Weisse Taube a few years ago and recommend it without hesitation. We arrived in Salzburg by train. It was a short bus ride to the Mozartbridge stop and a very short walk to the well located hotel, which is a 4 minute walk to the Domplatz. Restaurants and other amenities are nearby. Pleasant breakfast area and friendly staff. My main memory, and a primary driver in my world of recommendations was the unfailing kindness and patience of the owner who spent nearly 1 1/2 hours on his cell phone trying to find us a room in our next stop, Munich. Back then the Salzburg Pass was a great deal for us. Safe travels.
