Easter Markets

I let myself go down a rabbit hole on social media about the Vienna Easter Markets. Of course, on social media, they look fantastic. Are they really? We were planning a trip to Europe next spring - and Easter is late next year. Are the Easter markets worth starting our trip in Vienna?

Thank you,

Paula

There are four Easter markets in Vienna - Freyung, Am Hof, Schönbrunn and Hirschstetten.

While the latter three are essentially Christmas markets in the Spring (same food, same vendors), the one at Freyung is special. Thousands of exquisitely decorated hand blown eggs for sale ranging from 9-15 Euro each. It is quite the photo spot.

I went yesterday to Am Hof and Freyung with a friend. Very crowded with tourists as it was a sunny and warm Saturday. My friend and I drank wine and ate raclette while people watching. I bought a necklace and my friend bought an apron. I took tons of egg pictures.

I think it is a fantastic reason to visit Vienna.
