We will be driving from Vienna to Ljubljana on a Monday in early May. Looking for recommendations on places to stop to break up the ~4 hour drive. Recommendations for sights, food and activities! Of note we are young, active and love to eat and drink. Vineyards? Restaurants? Short scenic hikes?

Four hours to drive from Vienna to Ljubljana is a very optimistic assumption (no stops, no traffic jams, no road construction, etc.).
I would break the journey in Graz. Have lunch there, walk through the old town, go up to the bell tower.
Don't forget that you need a toll sticker for both Austria and Slovenia.
