Does Free Public Transit In Salzburg Include Getting From The Train Station To Our Hotel?

we are staying in Salzburg in September - I understand that our hotel fare includes the use of public transportation within Salzburg - how is this administered?

I have two primary concerns - getting from the Train station to our Hotel, and how to pay for that transportation. If my hotel stay makes this trip free, how do I "prove" this when boarding the bus to the Hotel? if I must pay the Bus fare, do the buses accept Euro coins and paper currency?

Thanks to anyone who can "fill in the blanks" for me.

Google Salzburg. There are separate references for public transportation and free public transportation. In Brief, you have to pay to get to your hotel and you get the free pass when you check in.

If you email your hotel, you can ask them to email you the ticket, which is a QR or bar code.
From the salzburg.info/en site:

Where can I obtain the Guest Mobility Ticket?
The Guest Mobility Ticket will be provided upon check-in at your accommodation. If you are arriving by public transport, your host may offer the ticket in advance via email (valid exclusively within the Province of Salzburg). If you wish to receive the ticket in advance, please contact your accommodation provider beforehand.

In the event that you need to buy a bus ticket, note that you cannot buy tickets onboard of the Citylink buses but that you can buy tickets onboard the Salzberg Verhehr buses. But buying a ticket on the bus makes no sense as you will be in the train station anyway and there are ticket machines there where you can buy a ticket with cash or a card.
