I will be in saltzburg snd vienna in late April and early may. Do I need to make dinner reservations or will I be able to just walk into most restaurants that time of year? Thanks sue

I had no trouble in September, these are big cities with lots of options. You could have your hotel call day of if you're worried.

Google Maps has a great feature that shows you peak activity for many places. You can gauge from this whether or not you need to make a reservation. Your hotel can call for you or you can go by during lunch and make a dinner reservation yourself at many places.
