We will be in Salzburg September '23. We have already booked a dinner (at the Sheraton Grand) with concert at the Mirabell and a Sound of Music tour that includes dinner. Any good suggestions close to the Sheraton Grand Hotel?

We really enjoyed Johaneskeller, which is about a 10 minute walk fro the hotel. The other place we have enjoyed is Zwettler's but that is close to a 20 minute walk. Salzburg is very compact though so even Zwettler's would be a really nice walk. Note, I am trying to remember, but am pretty sure Johaneskeller was cash only so double check. Well worth the effort though as the food/service was excellent.

We were there last week and had dinner at the Hotel Stein. Our plan was to eat on the rooftop terrace (it’s in Rick’s Book) but it was cold and rainy so we ate in the restaurant - menu is limited, we had a hamburger, but the view from the terrace is wonderful and magical. Stop by for a drink after dark if possible. Make a reservation as soon as you get to town. Stop in, you’ll walk past it on your way to the fortress.
Also, I second Emily’s recommendation for Augustinerbrau.
