Dinner-concert options in Vienna

We will be doing RS Berlin-Prague-Vienna tour in September and I would like to take in a concert in Vienna in order to experience one of the beautiful concert venues - and since I figure we have to eat anyhow, why not make an evening of it? However, I would really prefer not to attend a so-so musical performance, as the tickets aren't cheap (although there is quite a range of prices). Programming all seems pretty similar - lots of Mozart, Strauss Waltzes, etc.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thank you!

The Great Hall in the Musikverein is marvelous -- have seen a couple of concerts there and very much enjoyed them. I have not been to the Wiener Konzerthaus, but followed the link above -- many excellent-looking performances are scheduled there.

Thank you for the replies. They do indeed look like the real deal! Unfortunately, neither venue has a performance on Sept 18 (the day we can go).

There are a few churches which host concerts -- either low-cost or "donations requested" -- very low-key. No dinner, though.

Nowadays you're unlikely to get high-quality music with food served at the same time.

Any location serving food with a concert will be solely directed at tourists and the performance will be so-so or sub-par.

Thanks again - I am going to be scouting the options. And lo and behold...just realized RS himself addresses concerts in "the book" so I'll be checking out what he says, too. We attended a concert in Rome last year in a lovely church but honestly, the calibre of the performance/performers was pretty second-rate. But not cheap. Not looking to repeat the experience.

I totally get the "concert with meal" - the ones I was looking at did not serve the dinner at the same place but in a restaurant and then you go to the concert. But the concerts still seem very tourist-focussed.
