Dinner concert in Salzburg...reservations needed?

Hi. We are leaving for our RS Munich Salzburg Vienna tour in two weeks. The only place we have never been is Salzburg. The tour information indicates a free evening in Salzburg and suggests a dinner concert.

Do any of you have suggestions? I am an advance planner and would like to make reservations before we get there. I assume there are multitudes of costumed people selling the evening performances on every street corner. We have had good luck in Prague and vienna with similar come-ons but realize Salzburg is special.

Thanks
Julie

We did the Mozart dinner concert on Easter night at St. Peter's. It was not cheap (almost 250E for the 4 of us) but was a memorable night. Dinner was a 3 course meal and the music was Mozart opera. 2 singers would do 20 minutes or so of different selections from an opera and then a course was served. Food was very good and the musicians were fantastic. Opera is not our thing, but they were theatrical and funny in addition to being amazing vocalists. Here's the link and you get a 10% discount if you have a Salzburg card.

I am also not an Opera fan but enjoyed the Mozart Dinner Concert. The program was more of a show as in entertainment, than just opera. We booked our reservation through our hotel after arriving in Salzburg and didn't have a problem getting seats, but that was during a January visit.

Interesting aside is sharing a Mozart Dinner table with an American couple who recognized us from dinning the previous evening at the Alter Fuchs (Old Fox) Restaurant on Linzer Gasse.
